The free-to-play tactical shooter game Valorant, initially released on PC in 2020, is now available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Riot Games is finally bringing this popular game to console players.
Valorant for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Will Not Feature Cross-Play
Riot Games has made some adjustments to ensure that controls work similarly on both gamepads and keyboard + mouse. The console versions of the game will feature a special aiming mode called Focus.
This mode will work similarly to hip-fire on PC but with lower sensitivity, allowing for both quick camera movements and more precise shots. Additionally, some character abilities have been specifically adapted for gamepads.
The game will support cross-progression, meaning that inventory and character progress can be transferred between PC and console versions. However, due to differences in control schemes, cross-play support will not be available.
Valorant is available for free download on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Xbox Game Pass users will have access to all Agents during the open beta period.
Riot recently rolled out Valorant version 9.01, which brings a series of new features and improvements to make the game more balanced and enjoyable. This update also includes map updates.
